The challenge of housing rests in creating a sense of community. To bring people together is not only establishing common ground, but also minimizing conflicts and providing the right degree of separation. When the design respects an individual's needs to thrive, one would treasure such niche and community. If each resident is a thread of diverse culture and preferences, our design likens a fabric that weaves the community tight.
Our units and landscape are woven together to form a porous perimeter and a courtyard. Unit shift and slide to create pockets of entrances and gardens; walls similarly extend to provide sun shading and privacy. The sloped roofs pronounces each module's profile while "knitting" light and air through the clerestory windows. The shared courtyard, by criss-crossing paving materials and green, delineates indefinite boundary of a public space that can expand or contract to suit the residents.
如何在居住環境建立社區意識是一個挑戰。要將人們凝聚在一起，不僅要建立共通點，更要最大限度減少人們的衝突並提供適當的分隔空間。當居住場所的設計尊重個體的需求，個體也自然會珍惜他的居住環境和社區。如果居民是一條有著不同文化和喜好的線，我們的設計就是一塊把社區緊密編織在一起的布。我們的居住單元和景觀裝置交織在一起創造出一個多口的邊緣及其圍成的中庭。居住單元可以任意地移動變化組成兜状的入口和花園；同樣地，延伸的牆壁可以給住客遮陽和隱私。 傾斜的屋頂透過把光線和空氣織進屋內為每個模塊訂製出獨特的標識。中庭的地面由不同的鋪砌材料和綠化縱橫交錯而成，描繪出一個能因應居民需求擴展收縮的無界限的公共空間。
